Yulia Mazurova

Mezzo-soprano

Yulia Mazurova was born in Kazan in 1989. Graduated from the Kazan Music College with a bachelor degree in vocal and from the Rimsky-Korsakov Saint-Petersburg State Conservatory (Vladimir Vaneev's class). She sang the part of Larina in the Saint-Petersburg Conservatory Theatre’s production of Eugene Onegin and also participated in Sergey Slonimsky’s concerts, performed at the Saint Petersburg State Philharmonic and other stages.

Since October 2012 she has been a member of the Young Artists Program of the Bolshoi Theatre. She has been studying with Prof. Vdovin, Stephanie Rhodes and attended master classes with Laurent Campellone, Evgeny Nesterenko, Elena Obraztsova and Diane Zola.

I

n January 2013 Yulia performed the role of the Child in the premiere performances of Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortileges staged by Antony Macdonald at the Bolshoi Theatre.

In 2014, she joined the Bolshoi Theatre Opera Company.

In July 2017, she took part on the Bolshoi Theatre Opera Company tour to Savonlinna, performed the role of Laura in Iolanta (conductor Tugan Sokhiev). In 2018, has sung the part of Polina/Daphnis in The Queen of Spades at the Savonlinna Opera Festival (conductor Alexander Vedernikov).
